Here is an ingame, on device shot of Battlefield Mobile. Destructible environments, vehicles, and cosmetics were the signature elements of the title. Unable to share the majority of the game screens due to privacy issues.
Battlefield staple maps were brought over to our mobile version. Certain atmospherics, lens effects, and lighting models were paramount to getting the BF look users are accustomed to. PBR materials were used which were an improvement from the source material of BF3 and BF4.
The various visual features were balanced to get a signature look while remaining performant on a number of devices.
BATTLEFIELD MOBILE
Senior Art Director
The challenge was to bring the essence of Battlefield to the broader mobile audience. It began with research to understand the original core pillars of Battlefield and the evolution of the brand as it entered the live service space. We leaned into BF's legacy of cinematic visuals, epic destruction and furious vehicle combat while evolving the flavor of cosmetics and chase items to be competitive in the mobile fps landscape.
I built up the art team to about 30 internal artists. We worked with a large number of vendors in order to create the amount of content needed for live service. It was a very talented and ambitious team that took ownership of all parts of the game.
We are not able to share the majority of work created as most of it did not go public yet.
